State Lottery Benefits
Pennsylvania's lottery is unique because its proceeds can only be used to fund programs for older persons. The major programs are:

Property Tax/ Rent Rebates - reimburses, up to $500 annually, persons whose income and is less than $15,000 per household, who are age 65 and over. Widows and widowers over age 50, and permanently disabled people age 18 and over are also eligible.  Note:  Seniors may exclude 50% of Social Security/Railroad Retirement income in determining their eligibility income limit.
Transportation - free mass transit is provided in urban areas to persons age 65 and over, and reduced-fare transportation services for persons age 65 and over is provided in both rural and urban areas. 
Funds for Area Agencies on Aging - to use for a variety of services and benefits for older persons.
