Potter County Human Services is proud to help sponsor the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania and the Senior Games, as well as offer additional information on other events and conferences in our area. SENIOR GAMES

*** The 2022 Senior Games are cancelled this year due to Covid ***

Annually, Seniors from Elk, Cameron, McKean and Potter counties participate in the Four County Senior Games at the University of Pittsburgh, Bradford campus. The purpose of the games is to promote physical fitness for seniors age 55 and above. Some centenarians have even participated! First, second, and third place winners are awarded ribbons. Participants are also eligible for door prizes donated from local vendors. Participants choose from the following events:

  • 1 Mile Walk
  • Bean Bag Toss
  • Basketball Free Throw
  • Bocce
  • Wii Bowling
  • Croquet
  • Darts
  • Frisbee
  • Horseshoes
  • Golf Putting
  • Softball Throw
  • Wheel Chair Race
  • Seniors might also choose to participate in Pennsylvania's statewide Keystone Games.

    POTTER COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS

    As a recreational and leisure activity for children (8 years and up) and adults with intellectual disabilities, Potter County Human Services supports and offers access to Special Olympics Pennsylvania of Potter County (SOPAPC). the mission of SOPAPC is to provide year round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports, both individually and/or as part of a team. SOPAPC provides continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community. Competitions are local as well as regional and statewide. Potter County is currently offering training and competition and in 8 different sports including bowling, softball, basketball, soccer, track and field, cross country skiing, golf and equestrian. If interested in participating as an athlete or volunteer, please contact Potter County Human Services.

    FAMILY FUN FAIR

    Provide FUN, EDUCATION and AWARENESS of SERVICES for Children (focus age group 0-10) and their Families in the County.

    The Potter County Integrated Children's Services Committee is inviting exhibitors to make available an activity or booth to entertain, educate or provide a service to children on site for our Annual Family Fun Fair. Past years events have had tremendous success with over 400 family members in attendance.

    Advertising, refreshments, games and a special drawing will be provided by the committee and through community donations. All activities are free to families including refreshments.
